Assembly of Electric Scooters

  • Open the box, noting “THIS SIDE UP”

  • Remove the top foam pieces covering the scooter body.

  • Remove small parts, bag, tools, seat post, trunk, trunk bracket, etc. from foam inserts.

  • While the scooter is still in the box, carefully raise the handlebar post and place on the post on the base of body, connecting the base post extending from the wheel to the handlebar post. Be sure to put the little loose bar inside of the handlebar pole. Open the plastic bag included with your scooter and find the longer hollow screw and the small short screw. Insert this long screw through the hole in the handlebar pole. This screw will fit flush on the other side of the pole. Take the small screw and put in the hollow screw. Tighten. This is an important step because this screw keeps the handlebar pole from separating from the body in case it is pulled hard or the clamp is not tightened enough.
BE SURE TO DO THIS STEP.

  • BE SURE THAT THE WHEEL IS POSITIONED CORRECTLY AND NOT BACKWARDS. IF IT IS TURNED AROUND THEN THE SCOOTER WILL NOT FUNCTION CORRECTLY. MAKE SURE THAT THE WHEEL DOES NOT RUB THE REAR OF THE WHEEL WELL. In the picture to the right, you will see the clamp at the base of the steering pole. Be sure to position the clamp so that the open side of the clamp is over the open slot on the pole. Now you can tighten the clamp and when you do, it will pull the pole tight over the base post and secure it. It is normal for the steering to have a little movement. This is so that when a bump is hit, the scooter will "give" a bit.

  • On the handlebar, up by the dash, you will see a thumbscrew on each side under the bars. Remove these screws and put the handle bar grips into place noting the small holes in the bottom of each handle bar grip. Once in place, find the holes, line them up and screw the thumbscrew into the holes. Hand tighten only. Now, tighten the hex nut on top of the handlebar grip, but do not over tighten. You can break the strip that is being tightened to hold the grip on.

  • With the help of a 2nd person, one person should lift the front wheel and the other person lift on the rear wheel and remove the scooter from the box. Don’t lift on the plastic body of the scooter. Put the kickstand down and sit scooter up. You can also use the back wheel foam piece as a stabilizer to hold the scooter secure while you finish the setup.

  • Get a fuse from the plastic bag. Remove the cap from the fuse holder on the body of the scooter. Place the fuse in the fuse holder. Screw the cap on. You will notice a quick spark and snapping sound when you do this step. This is normal, and should not alarm you.

  • Do an electrical check. Put key in the ignition, turn on, and see if all accessories work: Horn, turn signals, headlight, throttle, brake light.

  • At this point, if everything checks out, you can plug the scooter in and start charging. It is usually best to plug the jack of the charger into the scooter first, note the guide that positions the plug correctly, then plug the charger into the wall electrical plug.

  • Get the trunk and the trunk bracket (looks like a “T” with two crosses and a clamp on the other end.) When assembling, be sure to position the clamp away from the lock of the scooter and the hinges nearest to the seat clamp. Open the trunk and you will see the gaskets, reinforcement bars, screws, washers, and nuts in a plastic bag. The screws and lock washer are placed in the metal rectangular reinforcement bars, then this is placed inside the trunk, screws extended through the holes in the bottom of the trunk, through the rubber  gasket, through the bracket, a flat washer placed, and then the nut is screwed in place. Repeat this for all 4 holes. Now the trunk is assembled. Set aside.

  • Find the post that has the curved extension on it. Unscrew the black hand screw on the rear of the scooter. Retain the gasket washers. Place the post in the hole in the scooter body, noting the guide it slides into and turn the post into place. If you would like to put a small thin washer along side the seat post when you insert it into the body, this will add a bit of tightness to the seat. Make sure that the curved extension is about 1" above the body of the scooter. This will allow it to be pulled down and tight when you screw it in place. Just bend the extension a bit to accomplish this. Put a gasket washer over the hole on the body of the scooter between the extension and the scooter body, where the hand screw was, line up the curved extension with this hole, put a gasket washer on top of the curved extension, then place the hand screw in the hole and tighten. Make sure you have it aligned correctly so the screw does not strip. Again, you may have to adjust the curved extension, bending it slightly to fit. Most of the time, tightening the screw will pull it into place. Now the seat post is in place.

  • Get the trunk assembly and place on this seat post. Adjust to the desired height and tighten the bolts and nuts with wrenches. Be sure to have the rubber gaskets on each side of the post for a good grip.

  • Find the short seat post and the seat. Slightly loosen the bolts under the seat. Place the seat post in the seat clamp. Be sure to insert the post completely or the seat will not stay tight. Tighten the bolts and nuts securely on each side of the seat clamp.

  • Place the seat /post assembly into the base seat post. Position to the height you desire and tighten the hand clamp, positioning the clamp opening on top of the slits in the post. This will make the post compress, draws it tight, and makes the connection secure. Tighten securely.

  • IMPORTANT STEP: Inflate the tires to the recommended psi. Check the side of your tires to verify. If the tires are under inflated, your scooter will appear to be very sluggish and will not have much power.

  • Check the brakes to make sure they are set correctly.

  • Test-drive your scooter!
